Farming Today

A committee of MPs has launched an inquiry into how our food supply system is coping during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee will ask if the Government’s done enough to tackle disruptions and support businesses that are suffering. But food’s not the only supply chain hit by the virus. With garden centres up and down the country closed, plant nurseries have millions of pounds of stock they can't sell. We speak to one of the UK's biggest plant suppliers. Our latest Farming Today Diary entry focuses on the benefits to mental health of spending time in the lambing shed... And on 2nd May, the first ever ‘Greatest Online Agriculture Show’ will take place across the internet! With most of the big Agricultural Shows cancelled this year, could this be the answer?
