Farming Today

How is our food supply chain coping with COVID-19? When the DEFRA Secretary, George Eustice, led the Covid19 press conference over the weekend, he said the supply chain is working well. But not everyone agrees. For many smaller food producers, who normally sell their goods into restaurants and catering, the lockdown has been extremely difficult. We hear from a crab processor who's lost business and had to furlough staff. And Anna Hill speaks to Professor Tim Lang, who says the Government has got it wrong by focusing the supply chain through a small number of major retails. With schools closed, many farming families have got extra pairs of hands to help with lambing and calving this year. But eight year-old Kathryn Moar from Orkney hasn't only been honing her lambing skills.... With a bit of help from mum, she’s produced a series of videos on the farm that have racked up tens of thousands of views all over the world. And our latest Farming Today audio diary comes from the Winterbourne Pub in Wiltshire. Presented by Anna Hill Produced by Heather Simons
