03/09/20 Covid-19 outbreaks in poultry plants, alternatives to soya feed, Cleeve Common

Farming Today

How Covid-19 is leading to the culling of hundreds of thousands of chickens. Production lines at processing plants have been shut down after workers tested positive for the virus. We hear from the British Poultry Council about the issues. We’re talking about animal feed all this week. Today we focus on alternatives to soya feed, like oil seed rape and insects. And we visit one of the few remaining farmers to hold commoners' rights on Cleeve Common in Gloucestershire. Presented by Charlotte Smith and produced by Beatrice Fenton.
