Anaerobic digesters can be used to get rid of food or farm waste, but many are also fed with maize grown specially for the purpose. So how green is the 'green energy' they produce? We speak to Dieter Helm, author of Net Zero - an examination of how to stop climate change. Meanwhile Arla Foods is using biodigesters to turn muck into fertiliser as well as methane gas, which can then be sold to the National Grid. We speak to the Welsh farmer who spent £20,000 on a sheepdog, and hear from a first generation farmer eager to share her new-found agricultural knowledge with others.
