After years of budget cuts, Natural England, the governmentโs advisor on nature, has had a 47% increase in budget. That goes hand-in-hand with an expanded role. Its remit: โto help the nation build back greenerโ. Chairman Tony Juniper explains what's in its newly-published action plan for this year and next.

The Australian government's hailing the new UK-Australia trade deal as a triumph for producers and consumers down under. But British farmers say they feel betrayed, they're not convinced with reassurances from the Department for International Trade that there will be no compromise on animal welfare and food-safety standards.
