The number of people killed or injured working on farms has increased by 70 per cent according to figures from the Health and Safety Executive. 34 people lost their lives working in agriculture, forestry or fishing in Great Britain in the year to March - up from 20 last year. That’s 20 times higher than the average across all British industry. The Farm Safety Partnership says farmers just aren't listening. It's a mixed picture for agricultural shows across the UK - some are going ahead, some are virtual, and some have cancelled altogether. We speak to the Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations about what shows mean to their communities, and what kind of future they might have. The EU is to partially lift the ban on feeding animal protein to livestock. It was introduced in 1994 after the BSE crisis. The ban will remain for cattle and sheep, but from August pigs and poultry will be allowed feed that contains processed animal protein. That may come from insects or gelatine and collagen from ruminants. Pigs will be allowed poultry protein, and poultry will be allowed pig protein. The rules won't be changing in the UK.
