Can vertical farming avoid the problems traditional growers are currently facing? We hear how work has begun on a 148,000 square feet indoor farm in Gloucestershire, which the owner says will be the world’s largest vertical farm. There are ‘glaring holes’ in the UK’s post-Brexit livestock trade - a report out today from a cross party committee of MPs accuses the Government’s of a lack of urgency in tackling the problems in exporting breeding animals to the EU, and says that's putting the UK at a competitive disadvantage. This week we are looking at new entrants to farming and while the quickest way in is to inherit land, succession in farming is rarely straightforward and working in a family business brings its own challenges.
