Ejeka jo from the Yoruba, meaning 'let us dance'. Nigerian Juju and it's musical antecedent, Appala, exist as a distincly Yoruba musical genre. Hypnotic percussion and intricate vocal poetry combine to tell a story of heavenly worship and earthly praise; Whether touting the virtues of the Gods, lineages of great kings, noble deeds of national heroes or simply praising the local deputy or minister.
