CCTV will be mandatory in slaughterhouses, the Government has announced today, along with plans to modernise the codes around animal welfare. David Gregory Kumar asks Lord Gardiner what they hope to achieve, and speaks to Peter Stevenson from the Compassion in World Farming about whether the Government have gone far enough. A new course is training youngsters in Cornwall interested in a career at sea to become fishermen in an attempt to entice new blood into the industry.
