The Unmistakable Creative Podcast

Building One of the Most Popular Zombie Podcasts in iTunes with Jason Cabassi

The Unmistakable Creative Podcast

For this episode, I decided to do something a little different. One of my best friends used to write documentation for the iPod at Apple. About a year ago, he decided to start a podcast about his favorite TV show, the Walking Deadcast. Jason has some killer audio equipment in his studio which, unfortunately, he didn’t let me steal, but it definitely upped the audio quality. Once we have some additional funds coming in, we’ll upgrade ours as well. Here are some highlights from our chat:
  • Jason’s Main Goal - Which Has Nothing to Do with Money
  • How Podcasting has Evolved Since its Inception
  • A Discussion About the Pros and Cons of a Two Person Podcast
  • Why You Need to Have a Genuine Interest in Your Subject
  • Tapping into the Audience of an Existing Property
  • Why You Have to ACT on Your Ideas
  • The Intrinsic Value of Content Creation
  • How Jason Creates a Relationship with His Fans
  • A Tip for Contacting Celebrities
  • How to Leverage The Comments on Your Blog to Create Content
Jason Cabassi has a long-held and vague childhood memory of teenagers stepping gingerly out of a church, creeping into the dark woods, naively believing they might be safe, only to be encircled and then engulfed by shambling rotted corpses, arms outstretched. It was on TV. You can follow him on twitter @jasonandkaren. One of our goals for 2012 is to become a top 100 show in iTunes. We can get there with your help and it will enable us to improve the how and bring on even bigger guests. So if you can, we’d be really grateful if you write us a review in iTunes.
