Farming Today

The winner of this year's BBC Food and Farming 'Farming Today Future Food Producer' is revealed, as are the recipients of the awards for Countryfile Young Farmer of the Year and Food Producer of the Year. Emma Campbell reports from the red carpet. Following worrying news of bee hive thefts in South Yorkshire, Anglesey, Kent and Norfolk, Sybil Ruscoe asks Tim Lovett from the British Bee-keepers' Association how much this can cost bee-keepers and what they can do to help prevent it happening in the future. Police on the rural beat across Britain are using drones this autumn to target illegal hare-coursing, and Caroline Bilton has been out with Lincolnshire Police to find out more about the new high-tech approach. Currently there's a shortage of farm secretaries and administrators. Chris Jones - the former director of Walford Agricultural College in Shropshire - has created a new course in rural administration which he hopes will attract more people into this side of the business. Producer: Toby Field.
