Speaker(s): Guy Verhofstadt | Guy Verhofstadt argues for a Europe that is united against challenges nation-states can no longer deal with on their own: from migration to defence to the tackling of the economic crisis. Brexit is the perfect opportunity to deliver that stronger and more democratic Europe. This lecture is part of the LSE Programme on Brexit. Guy Verhofstadt (@GuyVerhofstadt) was Prime Minister of Belgium from 1999 to 2008. Today, he heads the liberal group in the European Parliament, the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats, as well as the Brexit negotiation team. Kevin Featherstone is Head of the European Institute, LSE.
