07/06/18: New Bovine TB Test, Sexy Plants, Grass Identification

Farming Today

A new test for Bovine TB is being developed which could replace the existing skin test. Alastair Hayton from the company which has developed the test tells Charlotte Smith how it's been developed and how it might be implemented, and dairy farmer Andrew Cousins explains what it's like to currently have a herd tested for Bovine TB. Anna Hill has been to the Earlham Institute in Norwich to find out how insect pheromones are being grown in plants in greenhouses which will then be used to distract the plant-munching insects away. As part of the week on grass and pastures Caz Graham has been to meet Peter Bullard, the Director of the Cumbria Wildlife Trust who runs a 'grass identification' course. Producer: Toby Field.
