Could Squid and Chips Be on the Menu? Also the Countryside Alliance on Hunting

Farming Today

All this week Farming Today tackles one of the countryside's most controversial issues, hunting. Today Charlotte Smith speaks to Tim Bonner of the Countryside Alliance. Across the week we'll also hear from people who want it banned. We'll look at how people hunt within the law and speak to those who monitor what hunts do. Cod and chips may well be one of the UK's favourite meals, but with declining fish stocks and the impact of climate change how about squid and chips instead? Dr John Pinnegar of Cefas, the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science, says new research shows a change in the fish around the UK , and we should make the most of it. He's presenting his findings today to the annual meeting of the British Ecological Society in Liverpool. Presented by Charlotte Smith and produced by Mark Smalley.
