Building on the Green Belt, Animal feed, Fishermen health checks

Farming Today

More than 12,000 acres of Green Belt land has been released for development in 2017/18. Charlotte Smith hears from Rebecca Pullinger from the Campaign to Protect Rural England who argues that the Green Belt needs to be protected, and from Danny Dorling from the University of Oxford who suggests that there needs to be more flexibility to meet the country's housing needs. As part of a week about the things farmers produce but consumers don't buy, Rebecca Rooney has been to meet Jim Farquharson, who produces animal feed in Dorset. Fishermen in Peterhead are being offered free health checks, as part of a new scheme to improve their physical and mental well-being. BBC Scotland's Rachel Bell speaks to one who broke his tooth casting a fishing net and one who's been struggling to find time to see his doctor. Producer: Toby Field
