Janette Barnard was in the middle of a successful agribusiness career with Elanco when she decided to go back to school to get her MBA from Texas A&M.
At A&M she caught the “entrepreneurship bug” and upon graduation launched The Poultry Exchange. Her company addresses the problem with selling fresh poultry in the “spot market”, which refers to the market for large quantities of processed poultry that is not contracted ahead of time.
In this episode, Janette describes the problems that her company solves, the challenges of entrepreneurship, and the opportunities that exist for her and others in the future in agriculture.
