Farming Today

Rural Britain is awash with UK tourists unable or unwilling to fly abroad for the summer, and these home-grown visitors could help counter the losses to the countryside economy. Caz Graham speaks to an expert on rural tourism. GPS technology is being used to keep track of cows in the Devon woodlands. Dr Paul Gauthier tells Caz about the extraordinary yields achieved by a project to grow wheat in a one hectare building in what is some of the latest work on vertical farming and the difference this could make to the world's hungriest populations. Producer: Toby Field
