As the UK signs a trade partnership with Japan, we get an update on the ongoing negotiations with the EU and look to a potential future deal with the USA. Sybil Ruscoe speaks to the Minister for International Trade, Ranil Jayawardena. The Government has announced a new scheme to guarantee the authenticity of UK protected foods when the Brexit Transition period ends. We head from the UK Protected Food Names Association. Most of the animal hides produced in the UK as a by-product of the meat industry are export to be processed into leather in China or Italy. The UK now only has 23 tanneries still working. We hear from a Welsh beef farmer who is selling luxury handbags made from the hides of her own cattle. And black mitchum mint was grown in this country until the Second World War when the mint fields were cleared for food production.
