Farming Today

Farmers in Northern Ireland are facing demands to repay money they got through the Renewable Heat Incentive - better known as ‘Cash for Ash’. Some farmers who took part in the scheme have received letters from the energy market regulator Ofgem, asking them to repay thousands of pounds. Caz Graham talks to Elaine Mitchell, the BBC’s Environment and Agriculture reporter in Northern Ireland, to get an update on the situation. Wales now has a new Rural Crime Coordinator. Rob Taylor is the first to be appointed to cover the whole of Wales, and he takes on the job at a time when there are concerns about a possible spike in rural crime post-lockdown. Caz asks him what the top priorities on his to-do list are. Continuing Farming Today's week-long look at the harvest, Nancy Nicolson is at a broccoli grower in Fife - where the harvest is in full swing. Presented by Caz Graham and produced by Emma Campbell.
