Aid for Small Dairy Farms, Complaints About Slurry, the Taste of Beef, UK Grown Soya

Farming Today

Cash help of more than £8m is being given to smaller dairy farms. Is it a sticking plaster or will it make a real difference? Soya is a relatively new crop here in the UK, but over just the last year there has been a five-fold increase in the acreage being grown. Toby Field visits Pyne's Butchers in Somerset to meet Dr Phil Hadley who regularly conducts consumer-testing into the taste of beef. Water and air testing are underway in Templeton near Tiverton in Devon, following complaints of ill health at properties near a slurry pit.
