Farming Today

Small business funding, Montagu's harriers, Young farmers in Northern Ireland

Farming Today

A report from the Federation of Small Businesses argues that EU funding for small businesses should be replaced with money the government, once the UK has left the European Union. Anna Hill talks to one of the report's authors. Farmers in Norfolk and South West England are being asked to look out for one of the UK's rarest summer visitors, the Montagu's harrier. There were only five nesting pairs in the whole country last year - and they have been electronically tracked by the RSPB to follow them on their migration from Africa to the UK. Conor Macaulay catches up with young farmers in Northern Ireland who are taking part in a new forum, which was set up so that the next generation can put forward their ideas on how agriculture should develop in the future. Presented by Anna Hill and produced by Alun Beach.
