Farming Today

A House of Lords Committee has released a report on the potential impact of Brexit on food prices. Charlotte Smith speaks to the Committee chair, Lord Teverson about his findings. In a survey of 1,600 18 to 30 year olds for the Agricultural Biotechnology Council young people are pro GM crops and other disruptive technology. Charlotte asks organic farmer Adam Payne from Dorset and conventional farmer Ed Ford, both under thirty, for their views. This week we're looking at the theme of animal feed, and one of the biggest issues for some farmers has been the rising price of soya which is a main ingredient of many feeds. Mariclare Carey-Jones has been to meet Matthew Crookes who farms in Devon who has been taking part in a trial to use forage crops like chicory instead. Producer: Toby Field.
