Red Tractor reform, Honey bees threaten wild bees, Live export of calves to the Middle East

Farming Today

The Red Tractor logo is planning to add on higher standards which farmers can opt to meet - will it reassure shoppers that British really is better? This week we are talking about bees. For some years now we've been hearing how honey bees are under threat from pesticides and diseases, but we hear how honey bees in people's gardens also pose a threat to wild pollinators. Thousands of male dairy calves are being shipped live from the port of Cairnryan in Scotland. A BBC investigation has traced the onward movement of the calves, some of which end up being slaughtered in the Middle East. Presented by Anna Hill and produced by Beatrice Fenton.
