Today it's flower growers in the south west of England who say the lack of staff will mean more problems for them. Many say they lost a quarter of their crop this year as there weren’t enough pickers. They’re now recruiting for workers to start in December and say unless the government extends the Seasonal Workers Pilot Scheme to include them, within the month, they’re likely to face the same issues. There are warnings that British fishing will lose £300 million in the next five years, rather than gaining £148 million as the Government promised. The figures come from the National Federation of Fishermen’s Organisations which says a cost benefit analysis of the impact of Brexit shows there are few winners in the UK fleet, and that an ‘opportunity has been squandered.’ All week we're looking at different ways of getting a job in agriculture and the variety of roles on offer.
