All this week were looking at tenant farming and today we visit the Tenant Farmers association conference in Stonleigh, Warwickshire. Farming Minister George Eustice talks about future farm policy, and says that soil health will be at the heart of post-Brexit farm support. To find out how this might work in practical terms we speak to soil expert Dr Ulrich Schmutz from the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience in Coventry and MP Rebecca Pow. How prepared for the future is the British agriculturural workforce? That was the question posed to the industry at an event organised by the National Land Based College. Speaking at the meeting the Secretary of State for the Environment Michael Gove outlined his priorities for support in the new agriculture policy after Brexit, talking about the environment, managing volatility and improving productivity. BBC Wales's Environment Correspondent Steffan Messenger reports about calls for more cormorants to be shot to protect fish. The Angling Trust has asked ministers in England and Wales to allow a doubling in the number of licences to kill the birds to halt the decline in coarse and game fish, particularly endangered salmon and eels.
