09/03/21 Food standards in trade deals, rural tourism, artificial insemination

Farming Today

Foie gras can't be produced in the UK because of animal welfare concerns. Will the Government ban imports as well? We discuss 'equivalence' in food production for future trade deals. Schools are gradually welcoming their students back, and families are looking forward to the usual rhythm of term time and holidays returning. So how are rural holiday businesses gearing up for the summer? Instead of renting or buying a bull, an increasing number of beef farmers are using artificial insemination for their herds. They say they can afford the best genetics this way, and reduce the risk of disease and injury. Presented by Anna Hill and produced by Beatrice Fenton.
