07/08/21 - Trade, sheep, and a farming world record
A freight expert tells Sybil Ruscoe that he's seen large increases in the checks needed to export goods to the EU. Charles Hogg adds that the situation may get more complex in October when similar checks are introduced for imports. Sybil also speaks to Oxfordshire farmer Stuart Connor who has broken the world record for sheep shearing, with 872 lambs passing through his hands in nine hours. A sheep farmer in Cumbria is collecting data in a bid to improve flock profitability, and Dr Harry Siviter tells Radio 4's Inside Science that a cocktail of pesticides is having a detrimental impact on bees.
