25/08/21 - Pop-up campsites in Wales, Ragwort and horses, University lecturer turns farmer

Farming Today

The Welsh government has announced that pop-up campsites can operate for 56 days before applying for planning permission, but Andrew Campbell from Wales Tourism Alliance tells Anna Hill that these businesses should be registered to help keep track of how many people rural services will have to provide for, in the holidays. Stephen Powell farms in Llandrindod Wells and says that campers come to just sit-back and enjoy the views. Owners of horses are being warned about the dangers of ragwort - it's poisonous to horses and contains toxic compounds which can damage the liver, which may eventually result in severe disease and even death. Today's 'My Farming Life' is with Dr Lutfi Radwan who gave up a successful career in academia to produce halal lamb and chicken in Oxfordshire. Presenter: Anna Hill Producer: Toby Field
