Animal sentience clause rejected from EU Repeal Bill, avian flu vigilance, schools on farm, thermal imaging

Farming Today

Animal welfare supporters claim failure to class animals as 'sentient beings' in UK law must be changed before Brexit. A farmer is pioneering the use of a thermal imaging camera to dramatically cut the amount of antibiotic he uses on his animals. The National Farmers' Union Chief Poultry Advisor says farmers and people with backyard flocks must stay alert to the risk of avian flu. We visit the Farmlink schools' project in Somerset which aims to help pupils find out about the environment, the importance of sustainability and how a successful agricultural business is run. Presented by Anna Hill and produced by Beatrice Fenton.
