19/12/20 Farming Today This Week: Christmas preparations on farm, Welsh agriculture post-Brexit, neonicotinoids controversy

Farming Today

We hear claims that the National Farmers' Union has been secretive about lobbying for banned pesticides to be reinstated. The NFU’s sugar beet chair disputes this and says it's been an exceptionally difficult year for growers. The new shape of post-Brexit farming in Wales became clearer this week as the Welsh Government unveiled its plan for the next 15 to 20 years. It's been an up and down year for farming, largely because of the weather, let alone Brexit and a global pandemic, but Christmas is coming and its an important time for many farm businesses. We speak to turkey and goose producers, and hear from an arable farmer who's doing his bit to maintain the Christmas spirit by welcoming 400 car loads of people onto the farm for a drive-in carol service. Presented by Charlotte Smith and produced by Beatrice Fenton
